I know Thanksgiving didn\’t look like the usual for many around the country, but there is still much that we can thankful for. Take a moment to list out 3 things you are thankful for this year.
For me, it is roof of our head, family, and friends
As we head into the last month of 2020 I am curious, how are you doing? Like really, deep down, how are you?
Last week Advent began, a week of Hope. There is much to be hopeful and hope-filled. There is still light out there. This can carry us on and through whatever storms come our way.
Christmas is coming and there is a magic in the season. A magic that is always there and can be carried throughout the year. Do you believe? Believe that there is a magic surrounding this time of year, a magic that can be felt in our hearts and around us that is filled with hope?
This week is Peace. My whole Advent devotion is surrounding peace and the greatest gift. There is a much needed peacefulness that we need to feel. Coincidently, or maybe it is God\’s way of saying \”Hey Liz! You need this, so listen in, dig deep, open your heart and follow this path\”
I don\’t always do a good job at listening to God\’s whispers and more often than not I need it smack dab in my face and loud.
But lately in a lot of ways, I am seeing just how much intertwining is happening. Yet in order to see it I had to open my heart and begin to let my mind shift. I had to focus on the whole…mind, body, and soul. I had to listen and listen deep. I had to let go and live. I had to be honest with myself.
Peacefulness, and hope are mindsets. As are the other two weeks of Advent themes and lessons…Joy and Love.
We were created out of love, it is our nature to give love. But the happenings of the world around us can make our hope, joy, and peace falter and sometimes even shatter.
I\’ve seen that more and more as this year has gone by.
Wherever you are, I pray that you can slow down and see the hope, peace, joy and love that surrounds you each day…even when the outside isn\’t showing it.
